18V Lithium Combo Kit from Porter Cable

We got a first look at the 18V Lithium 4 Tool Combo Kit from Porter Cable and it’s a beauty.
Tools include:
+ Compact Drill/Driver
+ 6-1/2″ Circ Saw
+ Reciprocating Saw
+ Pivoting Head Flashlight
Plus (1) extended runtime battery and (1) compact lithium battery including charger. Blades included are (1) Double Ended Bit Tip, (1) 18T Carbide Tip Circ Saw Blade, (1) 6″ Wood Cutting Recip Blade. And of course a roomy soft-sided carrying case.
We’ll be doing full-reviews of each individual tool but this combo kit from Porter Cable has made a great first impression. Including two types of batteries is genius as we don’t often need to reach for the extended run-time and would prefer a lighter/slimmer battery for tasks such as cutting overhead using the recip saw or drilling in an awkward space.


The design of the tools is solid from the color combos to the feel and grip of each tool. There’s nothing sexy about these tools and they seem to revel in their utilitarian style.
These are definitely a step-up from other entry-level brands and you can feel the quality. As part of the Black & Decker family we think Porter Cable is targeting a more serious amateur DIY enthusiast.
As we share our full-reviews we’ll make note of power, battery life, ease of use and extra features.
