    Living In a Historic District

    preserve.jpg

The cache and and exclusivity of living in a historic district doesn't come without restrictions. The county, city, and local organizations may require homeowners to adhere to the preservation of the neighborhood which may include limits on remodeling the exterior or interior of your home. But you may qualify for state and federal tax credits when restoring your home to its original beauty.

Here are some examples of the requirements that historical districts demand from around the country and will probably apply to that 17th-century colonial you've been coveting.

    Monticello, GA
    Norfolk, VA
    Long Beach, CA
