Build It Yourself: Shoe Rack

This shoe rack is a perfect example of inspired ingenuity. The design for this shoe rack (courtesy of DWR) is brilliant as it takes up no space and keeps shoes off the floor thereby reducing clutter and dirt. NotMartha has built it herself and it makes for a great afternoon project that you can begin using straight away.

At first glance, it seems like a very minor feature. But it helps prevent clutter at the entrance of your home, and that's quite important when it comes to first impressions. Best of all, there's no real need to make things look fancy for a shoe rack so it's easy to do.

This does seem very nice :) but I wonder if the shoes will scuff, from scraping against the top board, when someone takes them out?
