Bathroom Mirror Frame-Up

The final post from our guest blogger this week the DIY Maven is a great how-to article about framing a beveled-edge mirror to add detail and character.

When we moved into our present home, one of our bathrooms had a beveled-edge, frameless mirror. It's not necessarily the most attractive look in the world. We decided to make a simple frame with which to frame the mirror. The frame added instant character and made the cheap mirror look quite expensive.

   

If you don't have the tools or the know-how to make a custom frame for your frame-less mirror, don't worry, there's another option. Most good craft stores sell sectional frame kits in various sizes. You pick two kits-one for the horizontal length of your mirror and one for your vertical length-assemble the kits with the accompanying hardware and then fit the frame over your art-or in this case-mirror. For our installation, we simply caulked the mirror into the frame. It worked great!
