Build It Yourself: Compact TV Stand

Here's a new project for you: a television stand. Maybe you already have one in your living room, but chances are you have more than one TV. This plan from Amateur Woodworker is great when you only have a small spot for a TV in the playroom or bedroom.

If you're feeling creative, design your own stand to fit your room. Then choose the finish or paint to best compliment the rest of the décor.

this won't fit the widescreen televisions which are the new standard as the digital tv tranformation will be mandated feb 2009.

A lot of people use TVs in basements or playrooms for video games too, which will still work on the smaller televisions.

Good point but I think people will be hanging onto those older TV's for quite awhile. Someone could probably and easily alter these plans as well to accommodate a wider screen.
