According to information published about Vetrazzo, the Berkley-based countertop manufacturer, their 85 percent glass creations can contain pieces of old beer and wine bottles, stained glass, traffic lights and more. Those who crave color will rejoice in the playful pattern created by the recycled assortment.

A friend of mine made his own custom home plan and included glass countertops similar to the one in the picture. The beauty of it was that doing these countertops yourself using recycled material is a lot less expensive than the designer stuff you can buy, and even when they're not done perfectly, they still look great, cause they turn out looking artsy.
