That is a very clear picture showing all the parts inside a toilet bowl. This can be a helpful guide if you have something wrong with your toilet. Well, it depends on which part is causing the problem. If the handle is too loose, you just have to reconnect it with the flush valve. More importantly, you just have to check it on a daily basis to see if the remedy is effective.

As the saying goes, “Prevention is better than cure.” That applies to plumbing as well. It is advisable that, before you experience any troubles and damages in your kitchen/bathroom, you should already have undergone the process of choosing a good and reliable plumber. That way, whenever you encounter any problems, you know who to contact instantly. It’s also a good idea to get recommendations from your friends and family. They know better since they already had a firsthand experience with the plumber.

Your tips are probably great. It is easy to understand and execute.

    • Water damage

I own a restoration company (http://www.waterdamageout.com) and recently got a call for water damage that resulted from a blocked sewage line. The sewage backed up into the house and came out the toilet and bathtub – what a mess. A plumber went out and the source of the blockage was tree roots in the sewage line. Guess what? Tree roots are not covered by your home insurance. Apparently it falls into the "maintenance" side of things and you are expected to maintain your sewage lines and keep them free of tree roots by pouring a chemical down the toilet once a month to prevent root growth. How is a homeowner meant to know that? Go figure...

Spoilage of water due to leaky faucet or pipe should be fixed right away. This is to avoid hassles and accident that might occur. It is also better to call a water plumber to do this for you quickly.

To harm no one due to leaking faucet is to fix it right away. This will help not to spill the water all over the floor and might lead someone to accident. Also, having a leaking faucet will increase your water bill consumption.

Thanks for the link. I didn't know that Canpages had a blog. The article was well illustrated, with a lot of useful tips. I think I can do the job by myself but.... if I spent too much time on this, I'll pick up the phone :)
