Keep Your Basement Floor Dry and Warm

    raised-basement-floor.jpg

We've been following this house bloggers basement remodel and he's found a great solution for his subfloor.

I'm using a product called Delta-FL, which I picked up at Rona. It's basically a big roll of dimpled plastic, which sits on top of the basement slab and acts as a vapour barrier, adds an air gap that helps insulate the floor, and also raises the floor up off the ground to avoid water damage in case there is a tiny amount of water.

      Hello,
Nice suggestion given by you. The best basement designs to make rooms appear to be bigger than they
are, is using lighting. They use light colors on the walls and bring
light in from the windows if you can.

Subfloors are one of those products that Homeowners always seem to skip in the basement. I personally enjoy using a FloorShield product and then putting a pad over it.

There was a DIY show on TV the other day that suggested actually gluing the flooring to the floor - which doesn't keep the moisture from affecting it. - Good post!
