    Outdoor Deck Materials

    wood-deck-material.jpg

It's the middle of winter and you're either freezing (if you're in the Northeast or Midwest) or sweltering (here in Southern California). Either way it's not to early to start considering what materials to use for the new deck you are planning to build this spring.

Calfinder runs down the top 3 deck materials; composite, vinyl, and wood, and provides an assessment of their durability and maintenance level.

    • Trex decking prices

Trex decking prices are quite high when you compare them to the prices of other decking material. However, there are advantages to paying the higher Trex decking prices when you want a quality deck.

After installing a Trex deck (in new orleans), I can't imagine ever going back to wood. Eco-Sustainability aside, the amount of maintenance that is required to keep a wood deck looking good just doesn't add up for me.

The Trex decking, or any of the other quality composite materials are great performers and look fantastic. (The one they show on Calfinder is not particularly nice). Warm and slightly smooth on your feet, no staining, no splintering, no drying, no staining. AND, we get to reuse all those bits of plastic that were headed for the landfill.

      I'm a fan! No, i don't work for Trex... ;-)
