Functional Art

Sometimes overlooked or dismissed, photographs can be the perfect wall art. Not only do they let you display either happy memories and loved ones or your own photography, they can be great conversation starters. The trick is to display them in an intriguing way, like with this huddle frame and shelf from Chiasso.

The frames here let you choose pictures of different sizes and orientations, making it all the more interesting to look at. Combine black and white or full color photos. And since this piece is also a shelf, you’ve immediately created another surface for decorating–which, especially for small apartments, is a great space filler. Consider tea lights that, when lit, will illuminate the pictures beautifully.
