Clean A Paintbrush in Ten Seconds

DownyLiquid.png

Believe it or not, I still have a few tips to share with you from the Greater Kansas City Home Show held in early February.

The first of those comes from The Wall Wizard himself, who has the formula to clean a paintbrush in 10 seconds--and yes, it really works!

Add a half-cup of fabric softener to a gallon of water. When you're ready to clean the brush, dip it into the solution and swish vigorously for ten seconds. Then admire your spotless brush, dry it with a brush spinner and store your brush so that it's hanging from a wall (and preferably with a cardboard sleeve covering the bristles.)

  • nOTHING WORSE THAN A HARD PAINT BRUSH!

  • Hi Allison!

Great question. During The Wall Wizard's cleaning demonstration, he actually tackled rollers, too. Dunk them repeatedly in the same solution, and then affix to a brush spinner. Spin the roller into a large empty bucket to catch the initial spray as the roller dries, and in a few minutes, the roller should be clean and ready to go! Let us know how it works for you!

Great tip! Thanks so much - this will save so much time (and so many brushes lost to crusted-on paint!).

  • Allison

Ok, but how about the rollers? Those are the worst.

  • You're right Allison - cleaning rollers is never easy. We'll look into some quick options and will post as soon as we find it.
