After designer Elizabeth Kelly of Studio Print Works bought an old farmhouse, she became enamored with the crumbling wallpaper left behind in a boy’s room. She saved several pieces and approached Studio Print Works to recreate the images, resulting in a new wallpaper collection called “Blast Off.”
Part of the WallpaperCollective.com, the retro-inspired “Blast Off” pays homage to something that has enthralled kids and adults for decades: space travel.

“From Buck Rogers to Star Wars to Avatar, our love affair with space has inspired designers for half a century, and our appetite for cosmic iconography never ends,” writes Carrie Leber of Leber PR.

Priced at $225/roll, the “Blast Off” wallpaper features artfully detailed scenes of a rocketship and astronauts working with Sputnik. The whimsical design is ideal for a child’s room, yet the muted colors and sophisticated artwork lend a vintage flair that complements a variety of home decor.
“Blast Off” is part of the WallpaperCollective.com, a company “that specializes in artisianal wallpaper designs from around the world,” according to the media kit. “Founder Cindy Weil is on a constant quest for the most interesting, clever, hip and beautiful wallpapers she can find.”
Numerous styles are available, including animal prints, art deco, floral, foil, retro, tropical, lacquer and more.
