It’s been awhile since we checked in with our good friend, the fabulous DIY Diva. And when we did, she gave us a brilliant idea: the DIYcation.
Makes perfect sense, doesn’t it? If you have a lot of things to check off your DIY list or want to make time to tackle some bigger projects, try taking several days off work and planning a DIYcation.
It may not be the most relaxing sojourn you’ll have, but that feeling of accomplishment beats a few extra naps, right? Um …. right!
During her DIYcation, the DIY Diva is planning a plethora of activities including finishing the kitchen walls, building and installing custom closet shelves, finishing the bathroom vanity and completing the master bath tile, among other projects.
It makes us kinda tired just thinking about her list! And that brings us to another great point: prioritize. If you opt for a DIYcation, take some time to make a rough sketch of what you want to accomplish, as well as a tentative timeline. Don’t cram so many projects into that time period that you’re going to forego sleep just to get everything done. Instead, keep your plan reasonable, and identify a couple of back-up projects that you can tackle once you get everything else completed.
What’s your take on a DIYcation? Have you taken one? Or are you in the midst of a project that would benefit from some uninterrupted productivity?
