Photo Gallery of Roof Types

There are various types of roofs but they mainly fall into two categories: sloped roofs many of which are tied closely to a particular house style or geographic region; and flat roofs which are all very similar and mostly found in modern architecture and throughout the Southwest.

What are those little square things sticking up on the roofs of some pitched roof houses in eastern states. They look like flaps about 6″ square and appear to be in clusters. They are too random to be foot holds, maybe to keep snow from sliding off onto walkways?

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was curious what all is required to
get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a
pretty penny? I’m not very internet savvy so I’m not 100% certain. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks
