Now that the temperature has dropped we realize it’s time to weatherize our windows.
We noticed some drafts around one of our windows and after closer inspection realized the weatherstripping was cracked and pulling away from the window. There’s an easy way to fix this using silicone caulk, here’s how we did it.
The first step is to clean your windows and remove all of the old caulk. If it’s already dry and cracked it should pull away from the window very easily. Otherwise use a razor blade and screwdriver to help dislodge it.
We recommend using 100% silicone caulk from GE, as it’s weatherproof and can withstand our hot summers and the suns UV rays.
