5.11 Tactical built its stellar reputation on purpose-built tactical gear and clothing for a variety of applications.
We put their latest collection to the test on a weekend trip to Bridgeport, CA. We did some hiking, exploring, and training using a variety of 5.11 Tactical products–and these were our favorites.
5.11 Tactical Defender Flex Range Tactical Pant
We’re big fans of the 5.11 Quest and ARB pants, but the new Defender Flex Range Pant might be our new favorite.
They proved to be extremely comfortable when flexing and kneeling, as well as durable when scraped or brushed.
The five-pocket slim-fit profile works great on the range, city, or outdoor applications. The reinforced belt loops and pockets easily support EDC items and whatever else you want to carry.
5.11 Tactical Recon Charge Short-Sleeve Shirt
This versatile shirt is made 60% cotton/40% polyester on the body and 92% polyester/8% elastane mesh on the back and sleeves for breathability, wicking, and odor fighting.

5.11 Tactical Cable Hiker Tactical Boot

5.11 Tactical TacTec Plate Carrier
Crossfit enthusiasts shouldn’t have all the fun. Level up your training with this plate carrier which fits securely on your body and allows you to add multiple weight plates based on your abilities and level of training.
It can also of course be used as a ballistic plate carrier for the ultimate torso protection.
5.11 Tactical Response XR1 Flashlight
This flashlight is small enough to be used as an EDC and is IP68 making it dust and waterproof up to 2 meters. We found it extremely useful when on the trail and sorting out some possible suspension issues with our land cruiser.
