The ultimate family SUV, the Chevy Suburban, is celebrating its 85th year with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It’s the first vehicle to achieve this honor, but after appearing in more than 1,750 movies, it’s well deserved!
My wife grew up with an 85′ Suburban and after getting married we inherited “the beast”. We loved taking it on tours through the desert and road trips from Las Vegas to Mt. Charleston and Salt Lake City. It ran great for the two years we had it, but when we decided to move to New York we had to let it go.
Now that we’ve become a family of four, we can see the need to get a vehicle with a third row. Living in Los Angeles a Suburban might be a tight fit, but it’s truly a one-of-a-kind vehicle. What other SUV can comfortably fit 9 adults, plus all of their gear and luggage? None!
Unfortunately, we couldn’t make the big Suburban party tonight in Hollywood, but after dinner, we threw on the movie Jingle All the Way. You know that Christmas classic with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sinbad. Well, Arnold’s vehicle of choice in the movie is none other than the Chevy Suburban.
Congrats to Chevy for achieving the distinction of the longest running automotive nameplate in the auto industry and the first to reach 85 years.
