Even if you paint only one or two rooms a year, you’ll still inevitably end up with a stash of half-filled paint cans that become harder to identify as time goes on. And after a big project like a renovation, the problem multiplies exponentially.
Take a tip from the duo behind Adventures in Renovating a Brooklyn Limestone and buy silver paint cans that can be filled with remnants from several other cans. Label the cans and, if you’d like, paint the outside of the lid to serve as a color swatch. To help get you started, the bloggers have made their stylish label templates available free-of-charge online, so you can print out your own versions and fill out pertinent info, including brand, color and room.
